Pangong

The horizon was replete with clouds last night
We did see the stars but the galaxy betrayed us
The mountains all around hide the sun away
in its famous acts of crossing over and under

A mosaic of smooth slopes from years of landslides
and rugged faces is treacherously inviting
So the lake can claim a few in its bitter cold

The sun shimmering on the water
After filtering through the mesh of clouds
Reminds me how the sun oozed in through the roof
To kiss me while I sat on the wooden floor
Of that long lost childhood home.
