Feminism

Movement against sexism is certainly gaining momentum. It gets stronger everyday. And yet, feminism fails to be in practice. It falls short and remains a movement. Ask someone about and they will tell you they are for it. Implore their lives and discover they don’t fight for it.

I know people, good people, who treat their wives as slaves. They treat their daughters as their property. The wife is brought up with orthodox values so she doesn’t buy feminism much. The daughter however, is educated and speaks a lot about it. In fact, she hates the way her life is governed. But she doesn’t fight it.

Writing is much easier than doing something. The same person who teaches the world how to behave with woman doesn’t confront her husband or boyfriend about how he treats her nor does she confront her father.

Feminism must grow out of the cradle of activism and be practiced like a religion. The laws won’t help us if we don’t speak up about issues in our living rooms and bedrooms.
